Tutoring

One of the best ways to really learn a subject is to teach it to someone else. Listening to Grant Sanderson (of 3Blue1Brown fame) interview Sal Khan (Khan Academy) has inspired me to do something I’ve been wanting to do more of for a while: tutor! One of the wonderful things about one-on-one tutoring is the opportunity to tailor lessons to a student’s needs and interests, and the flexibility to travel off the beaten path and explore topics that happen to catch our curiosity. Math and Programming are two broad topics that I know a fair bit about but want to understand more deeply, and as I write this, it’s looking like I’ll have free time in the evenings over the next month or two—anyone want to learn Python, explore calculus or brush up on their music theory with me?

Also, feel free to suggest a subject not listed above—I’m interested in many different things! You can reach me at jacob@jacobdgm.com.
