The Education of Augie Merasty: A Residential School Memoir – Joseph Auguste Merasty and David Carpenter

Thoughts: The Education of Augie Merasty is an account of the experiences of Joseph Auguste Merasty, a survivor of a residential school in Saskatchewan in the 1930s and 1940s. While not for the faint of heart, it’s a worthwhile read, particularly if you’re not familiar with the history of residential schools in Canada.
