On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century – Timothy Snyder

Thoughts: My mom was reading this small book during a visit to me, and I finished it in a few hours. Snyder provides references for quotations etc. in his prose, but the book otherwise contains no citations. Most of his warnings and suggestions ring true to me, but I don’t know enough about most of the historical events he refers to to know whether the statements he makes are accurate. As food for thought, I think this is generally worthwhile, but I can’t see myself presenting this book as a strong recommendation to anyone.
