Project Hail Mary – Andy Weir
Thoughts: A recommendation by my friend Nicole, who was spot on. Exhilirating. I appreciated how scientifically informed the book was, similar to Hank Green’s An Absolutely Remarkable Thing and A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor.
(The notes below are not a summary of the book, but rather raw notes - whatever I thought, at the time, might be worth remembering. I read this as an e-book, so page numbers are as they appeared in the app I used, Libby.)
Weir, Andy. 2021. Project Hail Mary. Ballantine Books.
- 356: “One thing I learned back in my graduate school days: When you’re stupid tired, accept that you’re stupid tired. Don’t try to solve things right then.”
- 356: “Science rule number 1: If something is changing unexpectedly, document it.”
